Student life isn’t easy.  Especially if you are a student in a STEM field.  That being said, it is difficult not get caught up with school itself and end up keeping yourself isolated. Some say, “There’s no time for that!”, “I’ve got to be focused on school and grades!”, “Why are you not working?”, “How can you spare the time?”.  While there is truth to those statements, there are many opportunities for growth, new experiences, and knowledge to be gained from ‘doing a little more’.  Getting involved beyond school is not everyone’s cup of tea, but I do hope to share some of the experiences and lessons I have and am learning, I hope it will encourage others to seek their own experiences in some form.
